Most of us spend our lives trying to feel better.
We work hard at it. Therapy, self-help, spirituality.
And yet something doesn't stick.
This podcast isn't meditation instruction.
It's understanding—clearly, practically—what suffering actually is,
why sincere effort often doesn't work,
and what tends to get overlooked. These teachings won't ask you to try harder.
They'll help you see what's going on.
And when that becomes clear,
practice starts to make sense on its own—
and it gets easier to return to.Just listen over time.

I'm David.
A therapist, meditator, and someone who still has difficult days.
I've spent much of my life trying to overcome the usual human struggles:
health issues, rumination, heartbreak, addiction.I haven't found a way to live without pain, sadness, or fear.
But I have stumbled onto something else—
the possibility of living well despite these things. My training as a therapist helped, to a degree.
Wisdom from yoga and meditation helped even more.
But nothing has taught me as steadily as the firm hand of my own suffering.Every piece I write is something I needed to hear at some point.
I'm sharing them in case you need to hear them too.
